Our family, our history and our dreams are uniquely woven by the art of growing flowers full of hope helping us to fulfill all our dreams. We seek to adapt emerging technologies from different industries to all our processes.

We believe in providing safe and friendly working conditions so that our people feel "at home" and thus build a better present and a better future for our workers. Our family is the 2,500 employees who care for and nurture our flowers every day, delivering results that meet the highest quality standards. We are proud to see our people happy and passionate about their jobs.
Our dreams
Over the past 42 years,2 we have cultivated dreams and flowers. We believe in the power of flowers to express emotions and bring hope from one place to another. Since 1982, we have focused our flower production on the east of Antioquia,an ideal location for cultivating quality flowers. We have always believed that doing things differently generates unique results.

To let our flowers speak for themselves about their origin, we provide constant, environmentally responsible care. Our flowers are sealed with thousands of smiles and the certainty of growing in a place where people are our greatest treasure.

That is why, with a high level of responsibility, we have developed a productive, innovative and conscious way to transport all our flowers around the world.
Over the past sixteen years, we have shipped more than 12,040 containers full of flowers around the world. We have persisted in our ideals of preserving this why our flowers reach farther each time.
Capiro was founded under the name "Geranios". Our main purpose was to grow and market horticultural products.
We started producing flowers such as roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums.
We acquired the company Flores El Capiro and decided that this would be our name from then on.
We started with three new production centers, representing growth for our company.
- We were driven to create our flagship product: the "Capiro pompom", and to expand our portfolio with bouquets. bouquets.
- We began working to improve our daily practices and become certified in different international standards that promote safe and sustainable cultivation.
- We created the Employees' Fund ¨FOEC¨, in order to provide our employees with the opportunity to save to study, travel and improve the well-being of our employees and their families.
- We began to research and create new logistics processes, resulting in the shipment of our first sea containers loaded with flowers to the United Kingdom and Chile.
We started shipping our flowers in maritime containers to Australia, which was another significant achievement for our company.
We won the "Gold" award in the Cut Flowers category and the "Gold Rose" for the best producer of the year, awarded by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH).
We decided to grow and surpass 100 hectares under greenhouse.
We celebrated our 40th anniversary, attended by the President of Colombia, Iván Duque. There, we were awarded the Order of Business Merit.
- We shipped the 10,000th container and celebrated it with an artistic event with our collaborators, turning it into a unique piece.
- We were certified as Carbon Neutral.
We reached 12,000 containers or 1,440,000 stems shipped worldwide.

In 2017, Flores El Capiro won the "Gold" awards in the Cut Flowers category and the "Gold Rose" for the best producer of the year, awarded by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) in Essen, Germany.
DFG is one of the world's largest flower suppliers to retailers and wholesalers. In 2007, it awarded Flores El Capiro as the best supplier in the world for them
The British supermarket chain awarded Flores El Capiro as the best producer of the year in 2009
The Presidency of the Republic of Colombia awarded us the Order of Merit for Business, which aims to recognize the most outstanding companies in the country and the visionary leaders who innovate to evolve and transcend, driving the economic and social transformation of the regions.
It is the largest floral fair in Latin America and the meeting point for the flower industry. It takes place every 2 years in Colombia, and we have been winners on different occasions as the best cultivators of varieties. We have also been awarded several times for having the best stand
Asocolflores awarded us the Sustainability and Shared Value Lucie de Vélez Award during the Proflora 2023 event. This recognition was given for implementing our beneficial fungus laboratory, aimed at cost reduction, soil health improvement, biofertilization, and pest control.
